Project Summary:

Morpeth is the home of the ‘Abbey Well’ spring from which Coca-Cola produce the Glaceau Smartwater product line.

Customer demand for this high quality bottled water was rapidly exceeded the capacity of the existing plant, and a significant expansion was necessary.

Project Details:

The facility expansion was to be executed in two distinct phases:

  1. New Glaceau Smartwater production & packaging plant.
  2. Migration of existing process equipment into the new installation.

Musk Engineering were engaged at an early stage by the Coca Cola Project Team to assist with the overall planning, design and execution of the project; providing the following services:

  • ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) planning & support.
  • Full CDM Facilities & Welfare.
  • Design & Process Engineering.
  • Process & Service Pipework Installation.
  • Equipment relocation.
  • Testing and commissioning support.

At the time of writing, the Musk team continue to partner Coca-Cola at the Morpeth site with new process storage, equipment integration and utilities for a new Water Treatment facility.
